Cisco New Certification Track

Cisco introduced a new certification track in June 2019 at Cisco live in San Diego, since then there were many discussions happening around it. Subsequently, there were lots of changes in these last 2 decades. However, the magnitude of the change happened now is huge. As a result, the new Certification track focuses on network programmability, automation, and meeting current demands in the technology.

Cisco DevNet

Firstly, this program aims at software developers, automation, and DevOps engineers. Clearly, it is to build skills in developing, integrating, and maintaining applications on Cisco and related platforms.

New CCNA Certification

Indeed, the new CCNA track is a converged version of old tracks. The old tracks were a cloud, Collaboration, DC, Industrial, Routing and Switching, Security, SP, Wireless, Network programmability, and Automation. As a result, this new CCNA is retooled for the latest technologies. And new job roles should adapt to the velocity of the new changes.

Additionally, there are no prerequisites for CCNA, but Cisco recommends candidates to have basic knowledge of networking and one or more years of experience in implementing and administrating Cisco solutions.

Cisco CCNP

New CCNP is taken a modular in nature. as a result, candidates must pass 2 exams to be recognized as CCNP. one is a core exam and one concentration exam of your choice. This allows you to focus on your interest and expertise.

This CCNP core exam also serves as a qualifying exam for CCIE Lab.

Cisco CCIE

Last but not least, CCNP core exam serves as the qualifying exam for CCIE lab. To become certified, candidates must pass two tests, one CCNP subject core, and the CCIE Lab exam. there is life tenure for whoever maintained CCIE for 20 years continuously and it is going to be valid fo 3 years.

Important Dates

Furthermore, February 23, 2020, was the last date to certify in the current program – you will receive credit for work you’ve completed in these current certifications.

Also, February 24, 2020 is the new exam goes live date
